september campaign update.

A big thanks to the thousands of you around the world that have supported the september campaign to bring clean water to people in Ethiopia!

here’s an update on the progress:

If you missed the Live Drilling footage we sent from satellite from Ethiopia  - check it out here: (LIVE DRILL)

Now, more than 1324 people have given up their birthday presents, and helped raise more than $724,000 in just 4 weeks.
That’s enough to build 181 wells in Ethiopia and give more than 72,000 people clean water.  We’re almost halfway to our goal of $1.5m, with 13 days to go. We still need your help.

Ways to Help.

Donate.
Ok, so my birthday is over, but I am still fighting for donations to build all 333 wells.  Before the campaign began, I challenged 7-year-old Max Schmidhauser to a fundraising duel. Max’s dad works at A Glimmer of Hope Foundation, who’s our implementing partner for the campaign.
I told him I’d raise more than 10 times than he could, and if I didn’t, I’d record a public video letting him know that he beat me and… well… that he was the greatest.  He happens to be way out fundraising me (he’s at $14,227)…

2. Contribute matching funds. Can you or your company contribute $4,000 to build a whole well in Ethiopia? Or $40,000 for 10 wells? Email us for more info: backus@charitywater.org

3. Get a September T-Shirt and help us spread the word. White and Black tees are now in.
